The prepositions

A preposition is word used with a noun or a pronoun to mark its relation with another constituent part of the sentence.

E.g. swim in the river

Go to school

Travel by boat

a)-preposition of time and date:

1- At is used with an exact point of time, for example, with hours, moments.

E.g. school begins at 8o’clock at Algeria.

His plane will arrive at 6.05 p.m.

2- In is used with:

*seasons:

E.g. they will get married in spring.

*years:

E.g. he died in 1989.

*months:

E.g. she was born in January.

*parts of the day

E.g. I always do some jogging in the morning.

*the future tense to show he period in which an action will happen:

E.g. he will have finished his exams in a week’s time .
